Sena (UBT) extends support to candidate against Neil Somaiya
BJP spokesperson Navnath Ban said Kirit Somaiya had exposed the Shiv Sena (UBT)’s corruption. “That is why they could not find a candidate against Somaiya’s son, Neil,” Ban said
Mumbai: The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) has extended support to independent candidate Dinesh Jadhav, who will be contesting against former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya’s son Neil Kirit Somaiya from ward number 107 (Mulund East).

The NCP (SP), which is in alliance with the Shiv Sena (UBT) and the MNS for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) poll, had insisted on the seat earlier, said Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut.
“We wanted to contest from the seat. But we gave it to them and they fielded one of their workers,” Raut said.
The candidature of NCP (SP)’s Bharat Vananis was, however, rejected during scrutiny of nomination forms.
“I had smelt a rat. Hence, I had filed nomination papers as an independent candidate on December 30,” said Jadhav, a member of Shiv Sena (UBT).
BJP spokesperson Navnath Ban said Kirit Somaiya had exposed the Shiv Sena (UBT)’s corruption.
“That is why they could not find a candidate against Somaiya’s son, Neil,” Ban said.
The Congress-Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) alliance has fielded VBA’s Vaishali Sakpal from the seat.
