Three police officers deputed at the Phase-1 police station in Noida were suspended after an inquiry on Wednesday after an anonymous email to Gautam Budh Nagar commissioner of police (CP) Laxmi Singh levelled corruption allegations against them and an attached video clip showed two of the suspended officers taking a bribe.
The video clip showed the two constables taking a bribe from a person in a car parked at a public location.
The suspended officers are two constables, Amit Kumar and Arvind Kumar, who were attached with the Jhandpura Police Response Vehicle (PRV) unit, and sub-inspector Sanjay Punia, Jhandupura police post in-charge.
In an official statement, additional deputy commissioner of police (Noida) Ashutosh Dwivedi said, “Recently, an email was received by senior police officers which alleged that two constables took a bribe from a person and a video clip of the incident was attached in the email. The mail was sent to commissioner of police (CP) Laxmi Singh, after which an inquiry was ordered. The inquiry confirmed the allegations after which the two constables seen in the video as well as the concerned police post in-charge have been suspended.”

Dwivedi said further inquiry and legal proceedings in the case are underway.
