An FIR (first information report) has been lodged at Vidyapatinagar police station against one Mukund Jha, his father Shrawan Jha and Bachcha Singh on the complaint of the man’s daughter, who has alleged that the accused had lent money to her father at exorbitant interests and had been threatening him and his family for recovery.
She has alleged they killed her father and four other members of the family to grab the homestead land.
Shrawan Jha, however, dismissed the allegations. “I had never lent money to the family,” he said.
Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Dinesh Kumar Pandey said, “We are probing the incident from all possible angles, including the role of money lenders.”
