Mother Earth provides plenty of things that human being may require. It is a wonderful life. But we also realise that this beautiful life is also full of innumerable hardships. Life is not that easy.
Pain and suffering are a part of what it means to be alive. Every one of us has our story and in that story there is adversity which, at times, is terrible.
But can there be a story without pain, suffering, adversity, emptiness and desperation? The answer is simply no. We can lead a spiritual life which needs to be a spirited one. The word spirited has something to do with the way we face hardships.
As enlightenment is an individual experience, facing the hardships and adversity is also purely an individual experience.
‘Go your way alone’, commonly known as Ekla Chalo Re, is a Bengali patriotic song written by Rabindra Nath Tagore and tells us to lead the journey alone.
When we come to this world, we are single and do not bring any family with us.
As a child, we do not have a father/mother consciousness. Nothing is there and we are isolated. We come without any baggage and belongings; we do not know relationships. Gradually, we start weaving cobwebs of attachment and intricate relationships.
For some time, the illusion and delusion of social relations makes us feel safe and secure. We are born alone, we live alone and we die alone.
Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we are not alone.
Perhaps we are totally alone psychologically and each being starts as a loner and ends up as a solitary explorer; loneliness remains at both the points of entry and the exit.
But at the same time, it is also a scientific fact of the law of nature that everything is cohesive and fitted into one another so that each one is everything and everything is each one.
That is what is known as universal consciousness. The whole play is consciousness only and we cannot exist outside consciousness.
