Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been in good form with the blade and that poses a big threat for Mumbai Indians when the two teams face each other in a titanic Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter at the MA Chidambara Stadium on Friday.

Dhoni’s CSK currently lead the IPL charts with 16 points and a win for them will all but confirm their place in the play-offs. As for Mumbai, if they come out victorious in this clash, they will displace high-flying Delhi Capitals from the second spot.

Chennai will once again rely on their talismanic skipper to power them into the knock-out stage of the competition and stats suggest he has been in rich form in the ongoing edition of the IPL. In seven matches Dhoni has scored 314 runs in 7 innings at a staggering average of 104.66, which is by far the highest for any player in the competition.


Dhoni also takes the third spot in the list of most runs scored by a middle-order batsman in this season. The CSK skipper is only behind Kolkata Knight Riders’ Andre Russell and Delhi Capitals’ Rishabh Pant.

Also, Dhoni is the one of the five players in this IPL who has hit more sixes than fours (minimum 5 sixes hit). He has hit as many sixes as fours, and his 6s:4s ratio of 1.00, which is the fifth best this season. So, expect some fireworks when Dhoni comes out to bat in this clash.
