David Warner hails wife Candice for display of courage after miscarriage
David Warner’s wife Candice had earlier revealed how ball-tampering scandal in South Africa led to her miscarriage.
Banned Australia cricketer David Warner on Thursday hailed his wife Candice for showing exemplary courage after suffering a miscarriage in the aftermath of ball-tampering scandal in South Africa.

Candice had revealed in an interview with Australian Women’s Weekly as to how she suffered a miscarriage a few days after her husband, captain Steve Smith and opener Cameron Bancroft admitted their involvement in the ball-tampering fiasco during the Cape Town Test. Following an investigation from Cricket Australia, Warner and Smith were then slapped with a one-year ban while Bancroft was handed a nine-month sanction.
“I called Dave to the bathroom and told him I was bleeding. We knew I was miscarrying. We held one another and cried,” Candice said during the interview.
Reacting on his wife’s revelation, Warner wrote an emotional post on his official Instagram account praising her for dealing with the highs and lows of life with an unflinching fortitude. The 31-year-old also said that he feels grateful to have Candice as her wife and soulmate.

“When you’re living the dream you must enjoy every moment of it regardless of the highs and lows. We as a family have been through one of the toughest times ever the last few months but nothing will ever stop us from being just us.
“My wife, my rock has endured pain, disappointment, regrets in her past and so many highs and lows but the courage Candice has shown in recent months is a testament to the qualities she has as a mother, person, friend and wife.
“Im grateful everyday I get to call her my wife and my soulmate, I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Warner wrote on Instagram.
