India vs England Highlights, 3rd Test, Day 1: India 99/3 at stumps, trail by 13 runs

WICKET! Indian spinners continue to trouble the England batsman on the first day of the pink-ball Test. Ashwin strikes again to pick up his third wicket. Length ball from the off-spinner that spun away, took a fine edge and landed safely in Pujara's hands at the 2nd slip. ENG: 98/8.

This is the 2nd time that England have lost 7 wickets before scoring 100 runs in the innings in Asia. The last time was in 2007 at Galle against Sri Lanka.

WICKET! Knocked him over completely. Archer remained stuck at the crease while the slow-drifter from Axar straightened to dismantle the top of the off-stump. Fourth wicket for Axar Patel, Jofra departs on 11. ENG: 93/7

FOUR! Jofra Archer leading the counter-attack with some good shots. Ashwin dragged this one short and Archer played it behind point in the gap for a boundary.

India had a terrific first session where Ishant Sharma began the juggernaut with the new ball and then the spinners took over. At the break, Ollie Pope and Benstokes were batting on 1 and 6 respectively. ENG: 81/4 at Tea.

Major blow for England as Axar Patel strikes again to tale down Zak Crawley. A slide from Axar that skidded on and hit Crawley on the front pad, plumb in front. Huge appeal from the Indians and umpire Nitin Menon obliges. ENG: 80/4

Ben Stokes joins the party with a beautiful boundary. He uses his feet and muscles the tossed up delivery over mid-on as the bat turns in his hands.

WICKET! England lose their main man - captain Joe Root. Ashwin bowls a fuller and Root plays it outside the line of the ball. It turned and hit Root's pad. The England skipper reviews it. It misses the inside edge of the bat and goes straight away to hit the top of the leg stump. Umpire's call does the job here in India's favour. ENG: 74/2

Another Umpire's call and another disappointment for India. Length ball from Ashwin that spun back from outside off and it has struck Crawley on the back leg. India review it. No bat involved but it's hitting on umpire's call. ENG: 67/2

That's some fantastic batting from Zak Crawley. The English opener has been very patient so far and playing with a cool head. A couple of boundaries against Ishant in this over keeps the scoreboard ticking at a decent rate.

FOUR! Amazing shot from the England captain. Overpitched from Ishant and Root plays it beautifully down the ground with full face of the bat.

FOUR! Crawley continues to show his class after a short a break. A muhc-needed boundary to calm the nerves of the visiting party. A flatter delivery from Axar Patel, Crawley finds the room and plays that into the covers.

Indian quick Jasprit Bumrah has been creating a bit of a problem for the English batters. he bowls another maiden - 3rd out of five overs so far in his spell. ENG: 30/2 after 10 overs.

A back of a length ball from Bumrah and that bounced quick and hit Root's finger as the English captain was trying to get forward. Looks like a serious blow as Root seems uncomfortable. England physio rushes in for assistance while others take drinks. ENG: 30/2
