India vs New Zealand 3rd T20I Highlights: India gained an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand after winning the third T20I in Wellington by six wickets. The Men in Blue chased down 199 in just 13.2 overs as Abhishek Sharma smashed his fourth T20I century, eventually scoring 113 off 38 deliveries. Abhishek and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed records, scoring the highest powerplay score (118) and the fastest team fifty for a full-member nation (2.2 overs). Sooryavanshi, who batted at No.3 in the second T20I, came out to open in Wellington and returned with a 19-ball 45....Read More
Earlier, Daryl Mitchell stepped up with the bat for the hosts, hitting an unbeaten 89 to help New Zealand post 198/3 in the third T20I against India in Wellington on Tuesday. Finn Allen (40) and Bevon Jacobs (39*) also chipped in with valuable contributions to take New Zealand to a fighting total. Arshdeep Singh was the standout bowler for India, conceding just 33 runs in four overs and taking the wicket of Seifert.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar's struggles
Bhuvneshwar Kumar hasn't had a good return to India's T20I fold so far, leaking runs in excess of 10 runs per over in the opening two matches against New Zealand. He would be hoping to turn the tide in the Wellington contest.
New Zealand bowling
There will be several changes in the New Zealand playing XI today considering pacers Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson are confirmed to not be a part of the lineup. The Kiwis' bowling has been found wanting in the first two T20Is, conceding a total of 27 extras.
Ishan Kishan ruled out
Ishan Kishan has also been ruled out of the third T20I of the five-match series as a precautionary measure. He continues to recover well from his low grade right adductor strain, which he sustained during the first T20I. However, he is yet to regain match fitness. Kumar Kushagra continues to be with the team for the third T20I.
With Kishan's injury, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is set to retain his place in the playing XI for the contest in Wellington.
