India vs South Africa 1st Test, Highlights, Day 3: Mohammed Shami recorded a five-wicket haul while Jasprit Bumrah and Shardul Thakur added two each to their name as India bundled out the hosts for 197 in the first innings. After Bumrah and Shami ripped through the SA top-order, Thakur entered the wickets column after he removed Quinton de Kock at the stroke of tea, reducing South Africa to 109/5 on an eventful day in Centurion. Shami struck again in the final session to complete his fifer and also register his 200th Test scalp. Earlier in the first session, India lost seven wickets for 55 runs. With rain washing out the second day entirely and a significant amount of time lost already, it was expected that the well-set duo of KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane will take up a more attacking approach against the South Africa bowling. But a brilliant spell from Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada spoiled India's plans to go past 400 in the first innings. At stumps on Day 3, India were 16/1, having lost Mayank early. India now have a lead of 146 that already looks imposing for the hosts.

Minutes away from live action
Bowling aggressively, bowling maidens and getting right lengths will help South Africa restrict India to a hefty total. But Rahul & Rahane will look to punish the opposition bowlers on loose deliveries and help India get past 400 today.
Pitch report
"There was a bit of spongy bounce on the opening day. But the short length bowled by SA bowlers helped IND batters adjust to the pace. The pitch is hardening up and it's important for SA bowlers to bowl fuller length today. It's gonna get harder as the game progresses. If they get 150 more, India are pretty much in control of the game," say Gavaskar & Pollock on the pitch after Day 2 washout.
Double hundreds in Centurion
From 2017, Centurion has produced 23 results in 23 matches. Only Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis have got a Test double century at the venue so far, with Rahul looking to join the SA greats in the elite panel.
Change in Rahane's mindset
"Rahane was in a different mindset in July. He was just looking to block the deliveries rather than looking to drive them, It all boils down to the mindset," says Sanjay Bangar on Star Sports.
