India vs West Highlights, 2nd Test Match Day 2, IND vs WI: Shubman Gill registered his fifth century of 2025, playing a positive and fluent knock against the West Indies to help India to a total of 518/5. The Indian captain would declare at that point, putting the fragile Windies batting under the pump in Delhi.

India had a disastrous start to their day with the bat as Yashasvi Jaiswal fell to an unfortunate run-out after adding only two runs to his overnight score. After that Nitish Reddy played a small and effective cameo helping India increase the scoring rate. Even though he failed to score his half-century, he added momentum and impetus to the progress.

With Reddy back to the hut, Dhruv Jurel joined Gill in the middle. The duo worked on building their partnership and then took down the West Indian bowlers increasing the scoring rate considerably. Their effort ensured that India compiled a mammoth total pretty quickly and then declare the innings.

West Indies have shown great resilience in their first innings of this match. Though they lost an early wicket, Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze showed the grit and fighting mentality. The duo stitched together a partnership of 66 runs and frustrated India in their wait for the second wicket.

It was Jadeja who picked up the wicket of Chanderpaul and opened the door for India. The opportunity was grabbed by Kuldeep, as he picked up the wicket of the other set batter, Alick Athanaze soon. The end of their resistance and resolution gave India the chance to sneak in and bundle the opposition cheaply.

Roston Chase departed soon and West Indies were facing the danger of being in the slump at the start of Day 3. However, Shai Hope and Tevin Imlach showed resistance as they played out 57 deliveries scoring 33 runs to take West Indies through to the end of day's play with only four wickets down.

As the match turns towards the third day, India would look to pick up early wickets and get done with the West Indies innings as quickly as possible. Shubman Gill and co. will be keen on batting only once in this game. While, West Indies will try and show greater resistance and get closer to the Indian total.
