The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 is here and in the second match of the tournament, Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in Kolkata on Sunday.
KKR have roped in Carlos Brathwaite to go along side Andre Russell, Sunil Narine as they would look to reinforce their batting firepower with Chris Lynn. Sunrisers have traded in Vijay Shankar, Shahbaz Nadeem and Abhishek Sharma for Shikhar Dhawan, but the it remains to be seen how they overcome the Indian opener’s departure.

Chris Lynn
The Australia opener is well known for his explosive batting style and it will his responsibility to provide KKR with a good start. With World Cup coming up, he will also be looking to prove his mettle against top cricketers.

Sunil Narine
The surprise package (when it comes to opening the innings) continue to be a key member of the KKR side and with numerous tricks up his sleeve, he will be a top spin option for skipper Dinesh Karthik.
Robin Uthappa
The veteran had an average outing in this year’s Ranji Trophy but his record in the IPL is quite enviable and the Karnataka batsman will be looking to continue his good run in the competition.
Nitish Rana
Nitish Rana has established himself as a bankable middle-order batsman (first for Mumbai Indians and then for KKR) and with the all-rounder bowling from time to time, he can be a trump card for his side.
Dinesh Karthik
The skipper has one of the most consistent performers for KKR last season and this will be a great chance for the veteran wicket-keeper batsman to establish himself as a contender for a spot in the World Cup squad.
Andre Russell
The finisher from Jamaica is well known for his destructive batting towards the end overs and with his brand of medium pace bowling, Russell is currently one of the most important parts of the KKR side.
Shubman Gill
The youngster was a surprise star for KKR last season and with good performances in the domestic circuit, this can be the breakout year for Shubman Gill.

The left-arm chinaman has proven his worth for the Indian cricket team and now, he will surely be looking to guide Kolkata Knight Riders to glory with his bowling variations at Eden Gardens.
Piyush Chawla
Chawla is one of the most successful spinners in the history of IPL and with KKR looking to use him in the powerplay overs, he will be looking to add more wickets to his kitty.
Lockie Ferguson
The former Rising Pune Supergiant pacer was bought by KKR in this year’s auction and with Eden Gardens favouring the pace bowlers a bit, he will be looking to utilise the conditions to his advantage.
Prasidh Krishna
A good show in the last season resulted in his retention and with young pacers - Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi - missing out due to injury, Krishna will have to take a lot of responsibility for KKR.
