Sri Lanka’s horror run in ODIs continued as they suffered a nine-wicket thrashing against Pakistan during the fifth and final ODI in Sharjah. Usman Khan was the chief destroyer as he snapped up 5/34 to bowl Sri Lanka out for 103. In response, Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq calmly went about chasing the target down as Pakistan registered a nine-wicket win to sweep the ODI series. This is a good result for the side who were blown away 0-2 in the Test series. With this loss, Sri Lanka have suffered back-to-back 5-0 whitewashes in 2017, having earlier lost by the same scoreline to Virat Kohli’s Indian cricket team.
