Ayaan Akram is a right-arm fast bowler and right-handed lower-order batter from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He plays primarily as a pace-bowling all-rounder, combining seam movement and discipline with the ability to clear the boundary lower down the order.
Akram came through the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) junior pathway, training at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. During the 2025–26 domestic age-group season, he emerged as the leading fast bowler in the country at the Under-19 level, taking 37 wickets for Uttar Pradesh while contributing over 300 runs with the bat.
In regional franchise cricket, Akram featured in the UP T20 League for teams such as the Kanpur Superstars and Gorakhpur Lions, bowling middle- and death-overs spells while providing late-order runs. In August 2026, Akram earned his maiden international call-up as the sole representative from UPCA selected for the India Under-19 multi-day squad against Australia Under-19. He made his international Youth Test debut on September 27, 2026, at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
