Eli Brain is a Queensland bowling all-rounder who has emerged through the state's junior cricket pathway. A right-arm off-break bowler from Northern Suburbs District Cricket Club who also contributes with left-handed batting, Brain made a strong impression at the 2025-26 National Under-17 Championships, playing a key role in Queensland's title-winning campaign.
The highlight of the tournament came in the final against NSW Country at Allan Border Field, where Brain produced a match-winning 113 from 111 balls. His century helped Queensland post 320 and earned him Player of the Final honours as the side went on to secure the national title.
That performance also helped put Brain on Cricket Australia's radar for the next stage of the national pathway. He was selected for the U19 Men's Talent Camp in Adelaide in March 2026, joining a group of emerging players identified during the National U17 Championships as Australia began its preparations for the 2028 U19 World Cup cycle.
Brain's progression continued later in the year when he was named in Australia's U19 squad for the multi-format tour of India. The Queensland youngster was one of five players from the state selected for the tour, which featured three 50-over matches and two four-day games against India U19 across Rajkot and Ahmedabad, where he picked up a couple of wickets in the first Youth ODI.
