Ahead of the Mumbai Test which begins on December 3, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to its official Twitter account to share a video of Kohli returning to the nets. The Indian captain took on the bowlers in an indoor practice session and also faced head coach Rahul Dravid as the latter gave him throwdowns in the nets.

This is Kohli's first international game since Rahul Dravid was appointed as the head coach of the side. Ajinkya Rahane had earlier led the Indian team in the first Test.

Taking to Twitter, BCCI wrote, “Seconds of Pure Joy! V.I.R.A.T K.O.H.L.I takes centre stage."

With Kohli returning to the Indian XI for the second Test, there are speculations over who would be dropped from the side. While many former cricketers have insisted that Ajinkya Rahane's poor form throughout the year might make him the most vulnerable part of the XI, there are others who believe Kohli could replace opener, Mayank Agarwal.

The first Test of the series ended in a thrilling draw with New Zealand's last batting pair, Ajaz Patel and Rachin Ravindra braved the spin-heavy Indian attack in the final minutes of Day 5 to evade a loss in Green Park.

Shreyas Iyer, who made his Test debut in the Kanpur match, scored a century in his first innings and followed it with a gritty 65 in the second.
