Services on the Red and the Blue lines of the Delhi Metro were delayed on Wednesday due to technical snags, officials said.

The delays, which took place on the Blue Line, connecting Dwarka sector-21 and Noida Electronic City/Vaishali section, and the Red Line connecting Rithala and Shaheed Sthal, resulted in commuters waiting at stations and inside trains during morning rush hour. “Services were restored on both the line by 10.30am,” a DMRC official said.

There was slow movement of trains between Tis Hazari and Shastri Park and later also on Pitampura-Keshav Puram sections of the Red Line.

On the Blue Line, the delay took place between Dwarka and Kirti Nagar due to a technical snag on the section, officials said.

There was a delay in service from Ghevra to Inderlok and Kirti Nagar stations on the Green Line, they added. The section from Ashok Park Main to Kirti Nagar also faced delay in services but normalcy was restored later.

There was delay in services between the Shaheed Sthal and Rithala sections of Red Line too, and services were later resumed.
