NEW DELHI: Delhi University colleges began admissions to undergraduate courses under the fifth cutoff list on Wednesday, while colleges began classes for the new academic session.

Classes began for all batches, including first-year students admitted till now. Admissions under the fifth cutoff list will go on till July 22.

Officials said students admitted under the fifth list and later can join the classes afterwards. While a few colleges conducted admissions during the first half, others admitted students after 2 pm.

“We have started the classes for first year students from today. Admissions under the fifth list are also happening simultaneously. The admission process under Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) quota is also going on,” said Hansraj College principal Rama.

Ramjas College principal Rajendra Prasad said, “We put out a notice that admissions will be conducted after 2 pm instead of morning.”

This year the university is only coming out with five cutoff lists. After the final list, colleges with vacant seats will notify the status course-wise and category-wise on its website and university portal.

For admission after the fifth cutoff list, students who had earlier registered on the undergraduate admission portal will have to again apply online through the portal and choose the course and college wherever seats are available.

The same information will also be available on the university website www.du.ac.in.

“The candidate is again required to apply online through UG admission portal and choose the course/college wherever seats are available. The applications will be received online only for 3 days,” said officials.

The college will prepare a merit list of all candidates who have applied in the college online and notify the merit list with names and registration number of candidates eligible for admission against vacant seats.

Three such lists will be brought out. But if seats still remain vacant, the college will again invite applications online and the same process will be repeated.
