Additional Sessions Judge D K Sharma acquitted Amit alias Bittoo of all the charges levelled against him. It noted that the prosecution was unable to bring home the guilt of the accused. It also noted that the girl was not supporting the case was prosecution.
“The accused is acquitted of all the charges,” it noted.
According to the prosecution, a case of rape was lodged against Bittoo with the South Delhi’s Vasant Vihar Police Station on the complaint of the prosecution.
The victim had alleged in the complaint that he got a call from an unknown number. She told the person that it was a wrong number, but the person often used to call her. The caller was later identified as Bittoo.
Both became friends and started meeting each other. Once Bit too called her on the pretext of celebrating his birthday. The girl had alleged that he took her to a room where he forced himself on her. The police after getting her medical report lodged a case against the accused.
