Race Course Metro station to be renamed
NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has begun the process of changing the name of the Race Course metro station to Lok Kalyan Marg.

“The station name boards will be changed first, followed by gradual changes in the automatic announcement system and maps as these will involve software updates,” said Anuj Dayal, spokesperson, DMRC.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had, on Wednesday, approved renaming Race Course Road in New Delhi as Lok Kalyan Marg.
The decision was taken at meeting of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) under the chairmanship of Kejriwal, who is a member of the civic body.
New Delhi MP Meenkashi Lekhi submitted a proposal to the NDMC to rename the road based on the philosophy of BJP ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay as ‘Ekatma Marg’. Kejriwal and AAP Delhi Cantonment MLA Surinder Singh demanded renaming this road after Guru Govind Singh.
