NEW DELHI: The police on Monday arrested a 28-year-old woman, identified as Sapna, for allegedly plotting the murder of her husband along with two of her paramours in southwest Delhi’s Chhawla area.

Rakesh Kumar, Sapna’s husband was allegedly abducted by the woman’s lovers and taken to a forest in Outer Delhi’s Kanjhawla are where he was burnt alive.
Meanwhile, to avoid suspicion, Sapna went to the police and got a missing complaint registered. She told the cops that he went out to buy vegetables but did not return home.
The police registered a complaint and started searching for him. A day later, the police found Rakesh’s body in the forest and informed Sapna. When she was informed, she told the police that he may have committed suicide as he was depressed over not getting a job.
A probe was, however, initiated during which the cops scanned through the call details of the woman and her husband.
During investigation, police found out that she was in touch with two men, Vikas and Vickky on the day of the incident. The day Rakesh’s body was found, the frequency between the calls of the trio had increased. This raised suspicion and the police asked Sapna to join the probe.
During questioning Sapna broke down and confessed to have planned the murder. She told the police that she had asked Rakesh to meet Vikas for a job.
On July 11, when Rakesh went to meet Vikas for an interview, he abducted him and took him to a forest area where Vicky also joined.
Rakesh was first bludgeoned and then set on fire.
