10 fresh dengue cases in Delhi, 4 dead in Gurgaon

Dengue is gripping Delhi and Gurgaon again. The Capital reported 10 cases on Thursday — the highest in a day this year — taking the total cases to 56.

Dengue is gripping Delhi and Gurgaon again. The Capital reported 10 cases on Thursday — the highest in a day this year — taking the total cases to 56.

In Gurgaon, two private hospitals confirmed four dengue deaths this month. But Haryana chief medical officer Parveen Garg insisted only 62 cases, and no deaths, had been reported.

A headcount in Delhi’s private hospitals and clinics put the total dengue cases so far at roughly 10 times the official figure.

Schools in Gurgaon are on a fumigation overdrive to protect students and staff from the day-biting striped Aedes aegypti mosquito.
