The police said Keerti was depressed following her family's opposition. She reportedly committed suicide at Tuglakabad village on Sunday night. Doctors at Majidia hospital, where the family had taken the girl, informed the police that a girl who had consumed poison was brought to the hospital.

The doctors said the girl was dead on arrival. “She wanted to marry him but her family was against it. She was depressed because of that," said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity. “This is suspected to be the reason behind the girl taking the extreme step.”
