The incident occurred when some undertrials were being taken to Sector 12 court from Neemta jail in Ballabgarh.

The two undertrials, identified as Mukesh Kumar and Rakesh, were among 98 undertrials being taken to the court in a bus.

According to the police, the two quarrelled over a seat.

Later, when the two were kept in a lock-up in Sector 12 area, the two attacked each other with a steel tumbler and suffered injuries. They had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

Station house officer, central, Ajeet Singh said: "Nothing incriminating was recovered from the lock-up. We are investigating if the glass was used for the attack or something else.”

“A case has been registered and action is being initiated against both,” said DCP (central) Parul Kush said.
