The children were flown down to India's capital by the Indian embassy in Kabul, and they have been guests of the Indian Army since Tuesday.

The children, from Class 8 to Class 12, witnessed the 90-minute parade on Rajpath, seated among the VIP guests.

They were seen enjoying both the march past by the military contingents as well as the cultural shows put up by the Indian children.

The Afghan children earlier also visited the National Cadet Corps camp at Delhi Cantonment. They will witness the majestic Beating Retreat here Jan 29.

Before returning to Kabul Jan 30, the children will get to see sites of historical value here and ride on Delhi Metro.

India has close relations with Afghanistan and has pledged $2 billion as development funds.
