A 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her landlord in the Capital on Thursday night. The victim also alleged that the accused and his two friends also made an MMS while she was being raped.

According to police, the incident happened in Mandawali area in East Delhi. They added the woman was alone when the incident took place. The victim, who is married, was presently staying at her parent’s house.

“The woman was staying with her mother for the past six months after she had some marital problems with her husband,” said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity.

The police have registered a case against the landlord Surjeet Singh (32), who has been arrested by the police. They are still looking out for his two friends, who are still allegedly absconding.

The police said the victim was alone in her room while her mother and her other children were sleeping on the terrace when the incident took place.

The police said Singh and his two friends entered the room and finding her alone allegedly raped her, made an MMS and later fled from the spot.

The police said that the victim later started crying for help.

“We took the woman to a hospital where her medical examination confirmed rape. Police then registered a case and arrested the accused Surjeet,” added the officer.
