“The number of challans during Christmas Eve has come down this year,” said S.N. Shrivastava, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic).
“While we fined 400 motorists on Christmas Eve in 2008, the figure this year was 206. This shows that people are more alert now and know that they can be fined for drinking and driving,” he said.
