27 yr old engineer commits suicide

A 27-year-old software engineer working with a Gurgaon-based multinational company allegedly committed suicide at his Lado Sarai residence on Wednesday evening. HT reports.

A 27-year-old software engineer working with a Gurgaon-based multinational company allegedly committed suicide at his Lado Sarai residence on Wednesday evening.

Police said the victim, who was identified as Ratan Kumar Singh, was living with friends in Lado Sarai. “Singh, who was to get married next week, hanged himself from a ceiling fan. A suicide note, written three days ago, has also been recovered from his room. We are waiting for his parents to come,” said a senior police officer, requesting anonymity.

Singh, who hails from Patna in Bihar, had moved in to his Lado Sarai house two weeks ago. He was scheduled to get married on April 20, police said.

“We are scanning his call details to find some clue. In his suicide note, he hasn’t blamed anyone but written about job-related stress. Also, his parents are expected to arrive in the evening and their statements are important,” the officer added. One of his roommates had spoken to Singh in the afternoon. The victim reportedly had not gone to office on Wednesday, the officer added.
