The deceased was identified as Mohammad Yasin, a native of Sultanpur in UP. Police said Yasin was staying in south Delhi's Govindpuri with his two brothers.

A senior police officer said Yasin's brothers told them that he had left home on Sunday evening for their native village. At around midnight, they received a call and the caller told them that Yasin's body was lying near a bus stop on NH-24.

"A case of hit-and-run has been registered and efforts are on to trace the vehicle involved in the accident," the officer said.
