The Delhi Directorate of Education (DOE) has issued an order, asking 64 unaided recognised schools to refund the excess fee.

The Justice Anil Dev Singh Committee, set up by the Delhi High Court, had found last year that 64 schools in the city had hiked fee without following the rules.

The DOE had then issued show-cause notices to these schools, asking them to explain why they should not be penalised.

According to the order issued by the DOE, the replies sent by the schools were not found to be satisfactory and, therefore, they will have to repay the amount to parents within a week's time.

The authorities also said that the school's recognition would be withdrawn without intimation if they do not follow the order.
