Apart from the 5-km-long Gurgaon Rapid Metro, the Monorail in east Delhi, 11 km, will have an interoperable ticketing system on the lines of public transport in London and some other cities in the West.

“One would be able to travel by Rapid Metro with Delhi Metro travel cards and tokens. We are putting in place a system through which collected fare would be shared,” said Anuj Dayal, spokesperson, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

A spokesperson of Gurgaon Rapid Metro said: “This integrated system would add to the convenience of users of both Delhi Metro and Rapid Metro.”

Delhi transport minister Ramakant Goswami said: “We are planning common ticketing for the two (Delhi Metro and Monorail).”

The common mobility card, ‘More Card’ — which DMRC launched in August and which provides common mobility facilities in Metro and 10 feeder buses — can be used as interoperable tickets in these systems.
