Sharma had sought security from the Ghaziabad police in October 2009 citing fear of Talwar’s family.

The information was conveyed to Sharma’s lawyer after he filed an application under the Right to Information (RTI) Act and sought answers on the issue.

In a reply, the Ghaziabad police have denied a special security cover to Sharma on the ground that “he just apprehended fears that he may get killed. He was not able to explain who he fears”.

Sharma’s lawyer Naresh Yadav said they would approach a higher court.
