After the recent release of a Bollywood movie and a book based on Noida’s Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case of May 2008, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has uploaded 15 court orders on its website for spreading awareness about the case.

The release of the movie and the book come after two years of the court passing the judgment.

The 15 court orders, which pertain to the period between February 2011 to May 2014, were passed by courts, including the Ghaziabad special judicial magistrate’s court, additional sessions judge’s court (Ghaziabad), Allahabad high court and the Supreme Court that were put on the website.

On November 26, 2013, a special CBI court sentenced Aarushi’s parents, the dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, to life imprisonment in the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case.

The court had awarded the minimum punishment for the alleged murders on grounds that they did not fall under the ‘rarest of rare’ category. The Talwars were convicted for destruction of evidence and common intention as well.

“The Aarushi-Hemraj murder case is being discussed in public. To facilitate the general public, the Central Bureau of Investigation has put all important court orders pertaining to the case on its website. Since the matter is sub-judice, the agency cannot comment any further on the issue,” said Dev Preet Singh, CBI’s spokesperson.

The orders uploaded include the cognisance order of the special Central Bureau of Investigation court in Ghaziabad to the final conviction order by the additional sessions court. The bail application filed thereafter by the two accused and order of the Allahabad high court has also been uploaded by the agency.
