AC compressor blast kills mechanic

A 19-year-old air-conditioner mechanic was killed on Tuesday when the compressor AC exploded while he was repairing it along with his employer in west Delhi, police said.

The incident was reported from Meera Bagh at around 1:10 pm and the deceased has been identified as Guddu. His employer Om Prakash (22) suffered injuries. They were fixing an air conditioner when the incident took place.

"The two had gone to the terrace of the three-storey building and were fixing the machine when there was a blast. Both were injured and rushed to the Maharaja Agrasen Hospital where Guddu was declared brought dead," a senior police official said. Prakash runs an electronic repair shop in Avantika in Rohini.
