To avoid getting into the same situation, voters in Delhi must register themselves as soon as possible. Merely having a voter's identification card will not be enough to vote in the municipal elections on April 15.
But the good news is that there's still time. Simply log on to http://ceodelhi.gov.in and click on the link 'Check Your Name in the Voters' List' (Electoral Roll).
Once you fill the form, the website will tell you whether your name is already on the voter's list. If your name is not on the list you can submit an application to add your name. The process will take at least 21 days. People can also fill their forms manually by visiting any of the 68 off voters centre across the city.
