Sibal summoned M S Ananth, director of IIT-Madras that was coordinating the entrance test this year, on Monday. He expressed concerns over the mistakes in the IIT-JEE papers taken by 4.75 lakh students.
The minister has asked Ananth to put out the remedial measures on the IIT-JEE website by Sunday to assure students and parents.
Ananth informed Sibal that the Joint Admission Board (JAB), the highest body for taking decisions on IIT-JEE matters, would meet this week to evolve a solution to the problem emerging out of errors.
The IIT directors met at IIT-Kanpur on Sunday to evolve a strategy to ensure that the mistakes do not affect the evaluation of papers and genuine students are not affected.
