The mercury rose slightly to 7.4 degrees Celsius on Friday.
"The minimum temperature recorded Friday morning was a notch below the average for this time of the year, at 7.4 degrees Celsius, but it was higher than in the last few days," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) told IANS.
The minimum temperature recorded on Thursday was 6.1 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest of the season.
"There was a shallow fog in the morning which reduced the visibility to 500 metres at 8 a.m., the official added.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 23 degree Celsius. Fluctuations in the temperatures will be observed over the next few days.
