In a bid to ensure that passengers maintain order while boarding and de-boarding trains and stay behind the yellow line on platforms, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has deputed commuter facilitation agents at various platforms at the Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate stations. The agents will start functioning from Wednesday.

Being two biggest stations where two metro lines meet, Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate stations witness huge rush of commuters every day. Every time a train arrives, commuters jostle with each other to get into the train and come out.

To prevent incidents of pushing and shoving, said senior DMRC officials, the agents have been deputed. Some of these will be women.

There will be 32 agents at each station. At Kashmere Gate, the agents will facilitate passengers going towards Rithala and Central Secretariat and at Rajiv Chowk, the agents will be present to help passengers going towards Vishwa Vidyalaya and Dwarka.
