Stereos from eight cars were stolen but according to police, only three people have reported the matter till now. Ayur Vigyan Nagar houses quarters of AIIMS doctors and staff members.
The incident was reported early on Sunday morning. "We have received complaints from three people. The rear windows of three cars were broken into and the stereos were literally ripped from the console," said a senior police officer.
Sources said five more cars were reportedly broken into in the area. The police said that the modus operandi remains the same and the possibility of a single gang orchestrating the crime cannot be ruled out.
Ayur Vigyan Nagar is surrounded by walls and the gates are manned by private security guards. The police said that the guards were sleeping when the incident happened.
