Now, on Sunday, the EOW arrested Deepak Kumar (34). He was the agent who blew the whistle on the DDA scam, after he fell out with the other property dealers.

SBK Singh, deputy commissioner of police, EOW said, “We arrested Kumar as he was directly involved in the planning and execution.” Kumar spilled the beans about the scheme to Udit Raj, head of Indian Justice Party.

Police said Kumar went to Jhunjhunu and Lakshmi Narayan Meena, who has already been arrested. They collected information on 177 villagers whose signatures and details were allegedly forged in applications for the housing scheme.

“He did not come directly to the police. It was only after he got threatening calls that he wanted to register a complaint. Meena named him as an accused. On that basis we arrested him,” said a senior police officer, who did not want to be named.
