Roy, a NAC member, criticised Team Anna's version of Lokpal Bill for its over-arching power invested in the ombudsman and hoped that National Campaign for People’s Right to Information version of Lokpal Bill will strike a middle path.
When asked about Anna Hazare's method of getting Jan Lokpal Bill implemented, she said the Gandhian is ill advised and it is wrong to undermine democratic institutions.
The NCPRI member also came down heavily on the government for arresting Hazare from his Mayur Vihar residence on August 16, hours before his planned indefinite fast at JP Park in New Delhi.
