The police said the victim alleged she met the accused identified as Umesh Aggarwal, a fashion photographer, through a networking site last year.

The two developed a good relation. The police said Umesh had assured the victim that he will provide her a break with an international fashion brand.

“In January, Umesh, a native of Jaipur, came to Delhi and stayed at a hotel in R block of GK II. Next day, he called up the victim and asked her to come over to the hotel. During the meeting, the two developed physical relations and Umesh assured her a job. However, after returning to his native place, Umesh started to ignore the phone calls of the victim and stopped talking to her last month,” said a senior police officer.

“I was told that Umesh had gone to Hong Kong along with his wife and children. When I narrated my story to his father, instead of sympathizing with me, his father threatened me to stop harassing Umesh or face consequences. I was left with no choice but to approach police,” said the victim.
