Audit order to discoms

To ensure more transparency and accountability the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has asked the power distribution companies to get their accounts periodically reviewed by "statutory auditor".

To ensure more transparency and accountability the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has asked the power distribution companies to get their accounts periodically reviewed by "statutory auditor".

The DERC also made it mandatory for the discoms to change the auditor every three months.

In a notice sent to the three power discoms - BSES Yamuna, BSES Rajdhani and Tata power Distribution - and the Delhi government, the regulatory body has recommended setting up of audit committee headed by an independent director by each discom.
