Avoid India Gate till noon this week

Avoid roads around India Gate for four days till noon next week as they will remain closed for Republic Day rehearsals.

“The entire Rajpath, including the cross over points, will be closed from 9am till noon on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for the Republic Day rehearsals,” said Satyendra Garg, joint commissioner of police (traffic).

“Those coming from south to north Delhi should either take Mathura Road, outer Ring Road or the C Hexagon,” he said.

He added that motorists should use the Mother Teresa Crescent Road instead of C hexagon route to avoid a jam.

Delhi’s security has also been beefed up for January 26.
