Bal Bharti students visit Malta

Students of Bal Bharati Public School, Dwarka, were selected to be part of the first Indian School Student Delegation to Malta organised by the University of Malta in association with the Embassy of Malta and St. Martin’s College in Malta.

Students of Bal Bharati Public School, Dwarka, were selected to be part of the first Indian School Student Delegation to Malta organised by the University of Malta in association with the Embassy of Malta and St. Martin’s College in Malta. The students were involved in various academic and cultural exchanges with St. Martin’s College students.

They attended academic workshops at the University of Malta. Educational visits and excursion trips to historical sites in Malta were organised by the Malta Tourism Authority. The visit was made possible due to the efforts of the school principal Suruchi Gandhi.

Around 200 students of DPS International, Saket, performed a play ‘Beastly Tales’. Many dignitaries graced the occasion, including Vikram Seth, author of the book ‘Beastly Tales’, Prof Dinesh Singh, vice-chancellor, Delhi University and Vineet Joshi, chairman of CBSE. Besides, Ashok Chandra, chairman of DPS Society and Ravi Vira Gupta, chairman of DPS International, Saket were present. The function was attended by ambassadors, eminent educationists, members of the DPS Society, eminent principals and parents and grandparents of the students. The play was directed by Madhu Sagar and produced by Amita Mishra, principal of the school. Seth was delighted by the wonderful interpretation of his piece.

Students of St Thomas School, Mandir Marg displayed their paintings at an exhibition organised by Empowerment, an NGO. The paintings displayed by 32 students were part of an art workshop held at the Jim Corbett National Park. Four students had won a special award at a SAARC-level wildlife painting competition at the Jim Corbett National Park. Principal Amos appreciated the students' work.

Secondary wing students of Delhi Public School, Meerut Road, Ghaziabad, showcased their creative skills at a special assembly organised on ‘anti-corruption’. Nalin Satyakam Kohli, member of BJP national executive, was the chief guest. Ram Singhal, KK Birla, Praveen Ranjan Singh, deputy superintendent of police, Deependra Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar were the other guests. The programme started with the lighting of the lamp. Principal Jyoti Gupta appreciated the students. She said that the assembly would serve connect the school and parent community. Kala Nagarkoti, headmistress of the secondary wing, proposed the vote of thanks.
