BJP demands Dikshit's sacking

BJP today said Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit should be sacked for "lying" on the issue of alleged diversion of SC/ST funds to Commonwealth Games related projects and a case should be registered against her.

"All we are saying is that Dikshit is lying. She has committed a criminal offence. She has misled the masses under oath. She should be jailed if the allegations are found true," Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta told reporters.

"The Chief Minister should be immediately dismissed and criminal case filed against her," he said.

Gupta's comments came after Dikshit denied that SC/ST funds were diverted for Games related projects though government documents showed that some money was indeed diverted.

"I am surprised to find the Chief Minister dismissing the allegation with so many evidence turning up," Gupta said demanding that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should ensure that a detailed report of last five years' spendings of schedule caste welfare funds is brought out.

He said an audit should be conducted on this issue and if any discrepancies were found, then Dikshit should be "sacked" and a criminal investigation launched against her.
