Deepak Joshi and Rajesh Yadav, colleagues, were killed on Bhairon Singh Marg when a Blueline bus hit them from behind.

According to the police, the accident happened around 10:45 am.

Both software engineers by profession worked with TrilaSoft, a firm in Rajendra Park. Joshi was a resident of New Ashok Nagar, while Yadav lived alone in Noida.

“The two were on a motorcycle when a bus plying on route number GL-32, between Karam Pura Terminal and Noida Sector 34, hit them from behind. Joshi came under the front wheel of the bus and died on the spot. Yadav succumbed to injuries later,” said a senior police officer.

A passerby called the police. Both the victims were taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The driver of the bus Mohammed Akhtar (49), who was trying to run away from the spot, was caught by people and handed over to the police.

Naveen Chand Joshi, Deepak's father, said he was planning to get his son married and was looking for a bride. “I got to know about it from my family members. I saw him when he left for office. He was a very responsible son,” he said.

Deepak Joshi was the eldest among the siblings in the family. His younger brother Tarun is a student and a sister Pooja was recently married.

Yadav hailed from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. He lived in Noida and the two went to office together.

Their colleagues who were at the Hospital demanded quick action against the erring driver.

“They (Blueline buses) are continuously killing people on the road. They are as dangerous as the terrorists. It has become difficult to travel and no one is doing anything to stop these errant drivers,” said Giten Mitra, a software engineer with the firm.

The police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving.

On December 17, two Blueline buses killed two children in separate accidents.
