Blueline runs over 18-month-old girl

An 18-month-old girl was allegedly run over by a Blueline bus in the Gulabi Bagh area of North Delhi. The police said that the accident occurred at 6.55 p.m. while the victim and her mother were on their way home in Sarai Jhuggi Basti.

“The girl was walking along with her mother when the speeding Blueline bus hit the girl from behind. She died at the spot. The police was called and she was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead,” said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity, as he is not authorised to speak to the media.

The police have registered a case against the absconding driver, who fled the scene, and have impounded the bus.
