BSP leader Thayyab Hussain and his supporters joined the Congress on Sunday and were inducted into the party by DPCC chief Jai Prakash Aggarwal.
Hussain, who has some supporters in Sadar Bazar constituency, claimed that about 500 BSP workers left the party along with him to join Congress.
He alleged that BSP has betrayed the interests of Dalits and minorities and did not do anything for their welfare.
