CBI files corruption case against NHAI officer after raids

The CBI today registered a case of criminal misconduct against a senior officer of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) after the agency carried out raids at his house in the city.

The CBI today registered a case of criminal misconduct against a senior officer of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) after the agency carried out raids at his house in the city.

CBI-Chennai unit registered a case against Shyam Singh posted as chief general manager of NHAI in the southern city,
an official of the agency said.

He is booked under provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act for alleged criminal misconduct of favouring
certain private firms.

The official refused to disclose if there was any recovery. Details were not immediately available.
