The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an order in this regard recently, official sources said.

64-year-old Chawla currently enjoys ‘Z´ category security.

No reason was mentioned for the decision where an armed security officer will be among the passengers.

Chawla is the first bureaucrat in the country to have this kind of security arrangement.

The Ministry communicated its decision to the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, who subsequently issued an advisory to all airports, the sources said.
